Writing experience that works to your advantage

Freelance copywriting - and project management - is a natural spin-off of years of writing in various capacities in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. What's really great? How much my clients now gain from my varied experiences...

I've provided marketing assistance to Profile Theatre of Portland, Oregon for the past few seasons. As Marketing Consultant & Communications Liaison I write and edit press releases, marketing collateral, email newsletters, and fundraising materials; and post to and oversee social media platforms. In previous seasons I also wrote website content for and maintained the company CMS.

As Project Manager for award-winning integrated online marketing agency Mambo Media, I provide web site copywriting and SEO services for a variety of Mambo clients, and have written and edited video and voiceover scripts for client promotional projects.

I oversaw and maintained the website of major Mambo client WestPoint Home (database of 150,000), researching and writing site content including articles, product descriptions, banners, images, and seasonal and industry trend reports. I developed visual creatives, copy, taglines, and product selection for emailers and sweepstakes. And I uploaded and posted content and images to the client’s CMS.

Years of nonprofit arts administrative work included stints as Grants & Sponsorships Manager for the Seattle Symphony, Development Director for Seattle’s former Bathhouse Theatre, and as Events Coordinator for the 1,100 seat Pantages Center for the Performing Arts in Tacoma, WA – experience that included fundraising and development, marketing, staff hiring and training, special events, artist booking, and contracts.

I researched, wrote, produced, and designed newsletters, program editorials, brochures, employee manuals and job descriptions, artist bios, marketing collateral, fund drive campaigns, donor acknowledgements, major sponsor solicitations, and grants – including successful NEA grant requests for inaugural Seattle Symphony recordings that today number over 100.

The former San Francisco-based film animation production company Colossal Pictures provided additional experience as Marketing Associate. Writing duties included press releases and packets, company bios, special event and promotional materials, royalty requests, and newsletters.

These are just copywriting and graphics-related career highlights. Check out the side bar. Geographically, my endeavors have taken me from Seattle to San Francisco to New York and back to the West Coast again, where I currently reside in Lake Oswego, Oregon – just minutes from Portland.
